1 Corinthians 13:11 – one of the best known verses of the Bible:
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways.
From Prince Caspian too we have an exchange between Lucy and Aslan. Lucy is confused as, although she grows up, she keeps finding Aslan bigger still. And so, perhaps, it is with God. As we grow in God, we hopefully find that there is yet more to know, rather than thinking we know it all. I’d like to think that the clergy I know don’t find they know God better than I do – because I hope that those years at theological college have just taught them that there’s even more to know.
