Today’s Bible reading is Matthew 16:24:
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
We’re asked to think on how much this encourages us that God wants us to be uniquely ourselves. It’s a good point? How, if we follow God, can we be uniquely ourselves? Surely we will all become clones of each other? Perhaps we each have our own cross; each of ours is different, yet we follow the same one true God? We have the freedom to sin; we sometimes do; but we are always welcomed back.
Lord, forgive me as I sin; thank you for welcoming me back; and thank you for the freedom you give us to be ourselves.
